🐢 ONE BIG THING
🔼 Looking Back. The sun was shining brightly on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001 in College Park as many Maryland staff members were at or on the way to meetings on campus. An undefeated football team was preparing for a big non-conference home game vs. West Virginia scheduled for that Saturday. Other Terrapin teams were preparing for contests across the country from Denver to Massachusetts, but that all quickly changed. Sept. 11, 2001 turned into a day of horror as the United States was under attack in New York City, Pennsylvania and just a few miles from campus at the Pentagon.
Through the eyes of 14 current Maryland staff members, who were on campus in 2001, relive their recollections of that fateful day.
