🔼 Terps Talking. Maryland football head coach Michael Locksley was at the microphone on Tuesday to discuss the Terps’ upcoming matchup at Indiana on Saturday at noon on the Big Ten Network!

🔼 Longhorn Showdown. Maryland women’s basketball has announced another matchup on its schedule — the Terps will take on Texas on Monday, Jan. 20 in Newark, N.J. as part of the inaugural Coretta Scott King Classic!

🔼 In The Clubhouse. Maryland women’s golf put together three good rounds at the Cavalier Regional Preview in Charlottesville, Va. on Monday and Tuesday, finishing tied for fifth in a stacked 12-team field.

Nicha Kanpai led the Terps at 3-over, tying for 13th individually. Freshman Anna Pillard tied for 30th in her first collegiate event, shooting 11-over.

🔼 Top-5 Terps. After scoring 11 goals over its two wins last week, Maryland field hockey has returned to the Top-5 in this week’s Penn Monto NFHCA Rankings!

🔼 Return To The Rankings. Maryland men’s soccer is back inside the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 this week, coming in at No. 19!

The Terps have opened Big Ten play at 2-0, with wins over then-No. 8 Wisconsin and Indiana, not allowing a single goal against the Badgers or Hoosiers.

🔼 Puerto Rican Proud. Maryland baseball’s Omar Melendez grew up watching collegiate and MLB baseball from his home in the mountainous town of Cayey, Puerto Rico. 

He especially looked up to professional baseball players who — like himself — were from the Island of Enchantment. Puerto Rico, known for its sandy beaches, flowering palm trees and tropical breezes, is home to some of the best baseball players in the world.

Melendez and the pride he feels for his country have been detailed as part of Hispanic Heritage Month!
