🔼 Player Impact. Malik Washington, Daniel Wingate, and Sean O’Haire earned Players of the Game honors after Maryland dominated Florida Atlantic!

Meanwhile, through Week 1, PFF ranks La’Khi Roland and Dontay Joyner among the top-10 graded cornerbacks in the nation. Roland checks in at No. 3 on the list, while Joyner landed at No. 8.

🔼 Career Nights. Maryland men’s soccer got a 6-0 win on Monday evening, improving to 2-0-1 after knocking off Saint Francis at Ludwig Field. Luke van Heukelum posted the first multi-goal match of his career, while Matias De Jesus tallied three assists en route to the Terps cruising to victory. Henry Bernstein got in on the career-best action, tallying a three-point match as the Terps buried three goals in the game’s final minutes.

🔼 An Undefeated Weekend. Maryland field hockey got off to a roaring start this weekend, capping it with a 4-0 shutout win over Villanova to climb to 2-0 on the season. Goalie Alyssa Kelbasko posted her 12th-career shutout in the victory, and the win marks the fourth straight season that the Terps open the year 2-0.

Up next, it’s time for the B1G/ACC Challenge in Durham, NC! The Terps will battle No. 8 Boston College on Sept. 5 and No. 5 Duke on Sept. 7. Both matches can be seen on ESPN+ at 3 p.m.

🔼 Trials of Miles. Maryland’s Rose Coats took home the victory for Maryland women’s cross country at the Trials of Miles season opener over the weekend. Coats finished first overall in a field of 57 with a time of 16:55.7, while Eva Rogers and Katie Dutko gave Maryland two additional top-10 finishers. Maryland will hit the ground running again in two weeks at the Spiked Shoe Invitational on September 12.

🔼 Impact of a Scholarship. Maryland soccer alumna Audra (Poulin) Esper turned her Terps scholarship into a life of global service, from cruise ship soccer to bringing clean water to communities in Nicaragua. Now she’s back on campus to visit the new generation of women’s soccer players, inspiring today’s Terps to chase purpose on and off the field.
