🔼 Call It Even. Maryland men’s soccer kicked off its season on Thursday night, playing UMBC to a 1-1 draw in Baltimore.
The match was scoreless through 83 minutes until Maryland’s Luke van Heukelum broke through to give the Terps the lead. However, UMBC responded two minutes later with an equalizer.
Maryland will play its home opener this Sunday against Georgetown at 7:30 p.m.

🔼 Home Again Soon. Maryland women’s soccer dropped its first match on Thursday, falling 2-0 to American to move to 1-1-1 on the season.
Liz Beardsley collected four saves, giving her 16 through three matches this year.

🔼 Watch Out. With eight days left until the first meet of the season, Maryland cross country’s Katie Altieri has been named a Big Ten Runner to Watch!
Altieri placed 36th at last year’s Big Ten Championships, and posted a pair of top-five finishes.

We’ve got 8 days left until Maryland football is back on the field for its season opener!
Jordan Phillips will don the No. 8 in the middle of the Maryland defensive line this season, where he’s set to make quite the impact. Phillips started 11 games last season and tallied 28 total tackles, including 1.5 for loss.

🔼 National Title Terp. Lonny Baxter is best known to Terps fans for using his bruising strength and soft touch around the basket to help Maryland men’s hoops win its first national championship in 2002.
Baxter is once again in the spotlight at Maryland, as he is set to be inducted into the University of Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame on Oct. 18.
