🔼 Oh, Captain. When Alex Nitzl came to Maryland as a 20-year-old freshman from Germany, he knew no one and English wasn’t his first language.

Two and a half years later, he’s a captain of the Maryland men’s soccer program that has reached 22 consecutive NCAA tournaments.

The Terps, coming off a NCAA Final Four appearance a season ago, received six first place votes in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Preseason Poll.

Maryland football will hold its semi-annual walk-on tryouts on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 6 pm at the Jones-Hill House indoor practice field.
