🔼 Stickin’ Around. Maryland track and field head coach Andrew Valmon has signed a contract extension through June 2028, as announced by Jim Smith, Barry P. Gossett Director of Athletics!

🔼 Win Streak. Maryland women’s soccer moved to 3-0 on Thursday, securing its third consecutive shutout to begin the season with a 1-0 win over UMBC at Ludwig Field.

Ellie Egeland scored the winning goal for the Terps, who are 3-0 with three shutouts for the first time since 1996.

🔼 Spoiled By Weather. The Maryland men's soccer match with No. 6 Wake Forest was canceled at halftime on Thursday night due to excessive lightning in the Winston-Salem area.

The match will not be continued, despite Maryland leading the No. 6-ranked team in the nation after 45 minutes of action. Maryland got the lone goal from senior Sadam Masereka in the ninth minute of play.

🔼 Updating The Schedule. The Maryland women's basketball team will hold a preseason exhibition and will host Bethune-Cookman in a non-conference matchup in November.

The Terrapins will host Point Park in an exhibition game on Thursday, Oct. 30 at the XFINITY Center. Maryland will welcome Bethune-Cookman to College Park for a matchup on Thursday, Nov. 20. 

🔼 All-American In The Classroom. The Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) has announced that 15 members of the University of Maryland gymnastics program have earned WCGA Scholastic All-American honors!

The Terps finished with a team grade-point average of 3.6476 during the 2024-25 academic year.

Jordan Phillips, who wore No. 8 for his two seasons with the Terps in 2023 and 2024, racked up 57 total tackles at Maryland, with 2.5 coming for a loss.
