⏱️ COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF

We have 23 days until Maryland football is back on the field inside SECU Stadium for its season opener against Hampton!
Da’rel Scott, who wore No. 23 for the Terps from 2007-10, rushed for 2,401 yards in his Maryland career, including a program bowl-record 200 yards against East Carolina in the 2010 Military Bowl, with touchdown runs of 91 and 61 yards!
🐢 ONE BIG THING
🔼 Blazing The Trail! The first time Stephen M. Schanwald '77 golfed with Michael Jordan, the Bulls superstar broke Schanwald's nose. During practice swings before the first tee shot, Schanwald forgot to take into account Jordan's unusually broad wingspan and got whacked in the face by a club head.
Schanwald, the Bulls' executive vice president of business operations at the time, raced to the clubhouse to wash off the blood before rejoining the match. "Bulls play hurt," he joked.
Schanwald's passion for golf—"my love affair," he said—will now benefit the University of Maryland's men's and women's golf programs. He has made a new commitment of $15 million to his alma mater, split between supporting construction of a state-of-the-art golf performance center on UMD's campus to help student-athletes improve their game, and growing the Stephen M. Schanwald Sports Management Program in the Robert H. Smith School of Business.
