Bob "Turtle" Smith, an alumnus, former student-athlete and longtime supporter of the University of Maryland and its baseball program, passed away Sunday at the age of 84.

🔼 Bob "Turtle" Smith, an alumnus, former student-athlete and longtime supporter of the University of Maryland and its baseball program, passed away Sunday at the age of 84. Smith is survived by his wife, Carol, and two children, Sean and Robert, as well as three grandchildren.
🔼 Engage, Educate & Empower. Five student-athletes embarked on a three-day trip to Rosemont, Illinois, for the Big Ten Student-Athlete Leadership Retreat, where they enhanced their personal growth through workshops, guest speakers, and team-bonding activities.

Countdown to Kickoff. We have 59 days until Maryland football is back on the field inside SECU Stadium for its season opener against Florida Atlantic!
Dante Trader Jr., a fifth-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in this year’s NFL Draft, was second on the Terp defense last season with 59 total tackles. Over four years with Maryland, Trader collected 190 total tackles, five interceptions and one forced fumble.

Signs of Heat Stroke
In Maryland, we often say, “If you don’t like the weather, wait a few minutes.” But let’s face it, our summers are often several months of heat and humidity with little relief. Unfortunately, that combination can be dangerous because it can easily lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke, which is a medical emergency. Recognize the signs, get tips for prevention, and learn what you can do to help someone in crisis.
