Today, we're not sure how it's already been five years.

🔼 On This Day. Where does time go? Five years ago tonight, Kevin Huerter was selected with the 19th pick by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2018 NBA Draft!
In five NBA seasons, Huerter has averaged 12.2 points per game. In his first season with Sacramento this year, he averaged a career-high 15.2 points and helped the Kings reach the playoffs for the first time since 2006.
🔼 Representation Matters. Maryland’s university president, athletics director, head football coach and top three assistant coaches are all Black - the first school in the country to claim that distinction.
Representation like that matters, Richard Johnson of Sports Illustrated writes.

🔼 Staff Promotions. A pair of coaches on Brenda Frese’s women’s basketball staff have new job titles!
Frese has announced that Kaitlynn Fratz will now be Assistant Coach/Defensive Specialist, while Jessica Imhof will now serve as the Director of Scouting/Assistant Coach.
🔼 Hall of Famer. The clock keeps ticking, and with each tick, we get a little closer to Maryland football game day!
With 73 days to go until the Terps kick off against Towson, we’re reminded of Maryland Hall of Famer J.D. Maarleveld!
Maarleveld was a consensus first-team All-American in 1985 and was a recipient of the National Brian Piccolo Award. He was officially inducted into the Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004.
73 more days until Maryland football!

🐢 ONE BIG THING
Ami Finau is an Arlington Renegade! Finau played three seasons for the Terps, and was named an honorable mention All-Big Ten defensive lineman in both 2021 and 2022. The Kahuku, Hawaii native had participated in rookie minicamp with the New York Giants this spring before being selected in the XFL Draft.
