🔼 Six-Hole Star. Matt Shaw is the best shortstop in college baseball.

Not an opinion. This is a fact - Shaw has been named the 2023 Brooks Wallace Award winner, presented annually to the nation’s most outstanding shortstop.

Shaw hit .341 with 24 home runs and 69 RBI this year, winning Big Ten Player of the Year along the way as well.

🔼 A Man Of Maryland. Matt Swope drove down Route 1 on Monday morning, the same road that took him to high school at DeMatha Catholic, into College Park. He had a meeting set with Maryland Athletic Director Damon Evans.

Evans was set to offer Swope his dream job.

🔼 Great Start. The 1978 Maryland football team, led by Hall of Fame coach Jerry Claiborne, won its first eight games of the season and climbed all the way up to No. 5 in the AP Poll.

The Terps held six of their first eight opponents under 10 points, including back-to-back shutouts of Wake Forest and Duke in late October to move to 8-0.
