🔼 New Head Man. Matt Swope has been promoted to head baseball coach at Maryland after more than two decades with the program!

A Maryland Terrapin through and through, Swope starred for the Terps from 1999-2002, came back to coach at his alma mater in 2013, and has been in College Park for the past 11 seasons. In that time, Maryland has advanced to six NCAA Regionals and two Super Regionals. After being promoted to associate head coach in 2022, Maryland has won back-to-back Big Ten regular season championships.

The move to promote Swope comes after previous head coach Rob Vaughn accepted the head coaching position at Alabama on Monday.

With Jacob Copeland, Dontay Demus Jr. and Rakim Jarrett no longer on campus this fall, can No. 81 Kai Holloway carve out a role for the Terps on Saturdays?

Holloway, a redshirt sophomore, joined the Terps as a local walk-on from Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, Md.
