🔼 Shaw In The Show. Just over 13 miles separated where Matt Shaw sharpened his skills and where he was living out his dream on Thursday night.
Shaw, who was a first round pick by the Cubs in 2023, was back in town this week, playing for Chicago against the Washington Nationals. Shaw and the Cubs currently boast the best record in the National League.
The former All-American shortstop for made his MLB debut in Tokyo against the Dodgers this year on March 18, materializing his dream after proving himself for three seasons in the minor leagues.
After a brief stint back in the minors in April and early May, Shaw was recalled by the Cubs on May 19.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder is hitting 18-for-55 (.327) with nine runs, four RBIs and seven stolen bases since being recalled. He also recorded back-to-back multi-hit games in his first two games back and even helped the Cubs to a walk-off win over the Rockies with a single in the 11th inning on May 27.

🔼 He’s Backkkkkk. Two-time NCAA Champion and 2021 Tewaaraton Award winner, Jared Bernhardt is heading back to the lacrosse field.
Late Wednesday, the Maryland legend signed with Denver Outlaws after spending the past four years pursuing a professional football career.
The connections to Denver are plentiful. Bernhardt played alongside new Outlaws teammates Logan Wisnauskas, Luke Wierman and Logan McNaney at Maryland, and Outlaws captain Jesse Bernhardt is his older brother.
Bernhardt ended his college career as Maryland’s all-time leader in points (290) and goals (202).
He won a national championship as a freshman midfielder in 2017, but he blossomed as a lead star in his next four seasons. It culminated in his senior season in 2021, during which he led Maryland to a dominant 15-1 season and won the Tewaaraton.
Bernhardt nearly hit the century mark for points, scoring 71 goals and dishing 28 assists for a Maryland team that came one game shy of another national title.
