🔼 WALK IT OFF! Send ‘em home happy, Nick Lorusso!

In the bottom of the 10th inning, just before midnight central time in a game that featured 90 minutes of weather delays, the Terrapin third baseman and single-season Maryland RBI king blasted a walkoff home run to beat Nebraska, 2-1.

With the win, Maryland stays in the winner’s bracket at the Big Ten Tournament and gets a day off before playing again on Saturday afternoon against the winner of the Nebraska-Michigan State elimination game.

🔼 All-Americans. The USILA confirmed what we all already knew on Thursday - Maryland men’s lacrosse has some of the most talented players in the country.

Six Terps were named USILA All-Americans, led by Brett Makar, who was a first-team selection.

Ajax Zappitello and John Geppert were second-team honorees, Luke Wierman and Dante Trader Jr. were named to the third-team, and Kyle Long was named an honorable mention All-American.

🔼 Terrific Trio. The Terrapin women’s lacrosse team also had several athletes named All-Americans on Thursday.

The IWLCA announced that Abby Bosco, Shaylan Ahearn and Eloise Clevenger all earned honors - Bosco was selected to the Second Team, Ahearn and Clevenger were selected to the Third Team.

This marks the 14th consecutive year Maryland has had at least three All-Americans!

🔼 Field Day. Maryland track and field had three women compete at the NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary meet on Thursday.

Jayla Bynum threw 15.50m in the shot put, but did not advance. Kayla Thorpe threw 46.04m in the javelin, and Kayla Woods leapt 5.89m in the long jump, but neither advanced to the next round.
