🔼 New Season Starts. Maryland softball starts fresh today, with a matchup against Cal-State Northridge in the opening round of the National Invitational Softball Championship (NISC) in Fort Collins, Colo., at noon ET.

The Terps are the top overall seed in the NISC and sit at 36-17, the most wins for the program since 2011. They get a matchup against a hot CSUN team, which is riding a nine-game win streak into today’s game and sits at 28-22 overall.

The name of the game for the Matadors has been pitching - they have only allowed 15 runs over the course of their nine-game win streak.

🔼 Go Get The Crown. In a tie for the Big Ten lead and in possession of the tiebreaker over Indiana, Maryland baseball has a chance to clinch a conference title this weekend at Penn State.

The Nittany Lions are just 6-14 in Big Ten play this season, but own a 5-3 record at home. The Terps, at 15-6 in conference action, have a 7-2 road record.

Indiana heads to Michigan State this weekend, which has not been a fun place for visiting teams to play - the Spartans are 7-2 at home in the Big Ten.

All three games of the Maryland-Penn State series will air live on the Big Ten Network.

The Terps will compete in the Cancun Challenge at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya over Thanksgiving weekend, with matchups against Washington State, Green Bay and UMass on consecutive days.
