🔼 Defensive Dominance. No. 9 Maryland men’s lacrosse found itself in a grinder on Saturday against Ohio State, winning 8-7 thanks to some fantastic defense to move to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in Big Ten action.
Eric Spanos tied a career-high with four goals, including two big ones down the stretch, while the Terp defense forced eight turnovers.

🔼 Long Toss. A pair of Maryland track student-athletes threw implements a very long way this weekend — Rhys Allen tossed the discus 56.34 meters at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational, good for sixth in school history, while Mekhi Abbott improved on his program record in the javelin with a monster throw of 63.40 meters!
🔼 Expanding Her Portfolio. Maryland gymnastics’ Hailey Merchant partnered with several different brands and companies during the 2023-24 school year, made possible through NIL compensation and working with agencies such as Opendorse and Icon Source.

🔼 Cardiac Terps. Maryland baseball was at it again on Sunday, earning a walk-off hit from Kevin Keister in the bottom of the ninth against Indiana to avoid a series sweep to the Hoosiers.
Sunday’s win was the Terps’ fourth in walk-off fashion already this season, their 13th come-from-behind victory, and moved their record in one-run games to 9-1.

🔼 Ending On A High Note. Maryland gymnastics’ season concluded on Friday at the NCAA Gainesville Regional, as the Terps finished in third place with its second-highest performance at an NCAA Regional in program history, scoring a 196.675.
🔼 Six Up. No. 54 Maryland women’s tennis was dominant on Sunday, beating Indiana 6-1 in its Mental Health Awareness Match.
The Terps took the doubles point to open up a 1-0 lead, and received singles wins from Selma Cadar, Minorka Miranda, Kallista Liu, Maria Budin and Diya Challa.

🔼 One Up. Maryland softball couldn’t get the bats going during Sunday’s rubber match versus Illinois, losing 4-0 to the Illini at home.
The Terps won Game 1 of the series in dominant fashion, 8-0 in just five innings. Courtney Wyche was once again fantastic, tossing a complete game with eight strikeouts.
🔼 One Tops Two. In its second No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup in as many weeks, No. 2 Maryland women’s lacrosse fell to top-ranked Northwestern on Saturday, 17-9.
A record-setting 2,400 fans at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex witnessed five first half lead changes, but the Wildcats stretched their lead in the second half to pull away.
