🔼 Just Keep Winning. With a 19th consecutive Big Ten series win on the line Sunday, Maryland baseball won in the way it knows best, with the bats, in a 10-8 rubber match win over Purdue.
First baseman Eddie Hacopian had a big weekend for the Dirty Terps, racking up six hits and five RBI. Nick Lorusso and Ian Petrutz both notched four hits and several RBI between the two of them.
🔼 One Run Between Them. Maryland softball dropped its weekend series against Penn State by the smallest of margins - game one was decided by one run, game two was decided by one run, and you guessed it, game three was decided by one run.
The weekend belonged to the two pitching staffs - there were 11 total runs between the two teams over the three-game series. Trinity Schlotterbeck was the winning pitching for the Terps in game two, tossing her sixth complete game of the season.
🔼 Seesaw Battle. Maryland and Johns Hopkins were tied at 1-1, then 2-2, then 3-3, all the way to the point of a 10-10 tie in the fourth quarter, but Johns Hopkins got one more, winning 12-11.
Braden Erksa had a career-high five points for the Terps on four goals and one assist. Daniel Maltz added four goals of his own.
🔼 Scratched By Cats. It wasn’t the result Maryland women’s lacrosse wanted in Evanston over the weekend, falling 13-6 to the No. 2 Northwestern Wildcats.
The Terps were right in the thick of it at halftime, tied at 4-4 with Northwestern. Shaylan Ahearn scored two goals for Maryland, both in the first half as part of a rally that saw the Terps come from down 3-0 to tied at half.
