🔼 Pulled Away Late. No. 4 Maryland men’s lacrosse was locked into a close contest with Rutgers for much of the game on Saturday, until a 4-1 fourth-quarter advantage gave the Terps some breathing room in an 11-6 win.

Daniel Kelly led the offensive charge with three goals and an assist, while Jack Koras and Ryan Siracusa both contributed two goals and an assist, and goalie Logan McNaney recorded a season-high 15 saves.

🔼 Double Dominance. Maryland women’s tennis put together a dominant day on Saturday, taking down both Rutgers and George Mason to move to 14-9 overall and 4-5 in Big Ten play with the win over the Scarlet Knights.

The Terps gave up just one point against Rutgers before sweeping the Patriots.

🔼 West Coast Swing. Maryland track and field traveled from the east coast out west this past weekend for both the Long Beach Invitational and Bryan Clay Invite with several standout performances, including Jeff Kline’s third place finish in the men’s shot put in Long Beach.

🔼 Sunday Funday. Sam Hojnar just seems to come up with big hits — the Terp infielder homered in the 10th inning on Sunday to give Maryland baseball a 9-8 win over Northwestern to salvage a game in the series against the Wildcats.

Eddie Hacopian homered twice in the game and drove in four runs, while Hojnar, Kevin Keister, Brayden Martin and Devin Russell all drove in one.

🔼 Couple Close Calls. Maryland softball was swept at Big Ten-leading Northwestern over the weekend, although it was an extremely competitive series overall.

The Terps dropped both Games 1 and 3 by one run to the Wildcats.

🔼 Tale Of Two Halves. No. 4 Maryland women’s lacrosse dominated the first half against No. 24 Penn State on Saturday, leading 7-3 at the break, but the Nittany Lions scored six third-quarter goals and went on to win, 12-11.

Hannah Leubecker, Chrissy Thomas and Eloise Clevenger all collected four points for the Terps, who finish the Big Ten slate at 4-2.
