🔼 We’re No. 1. In a battle between the two top-ranked teams in the country, No. 1 Maryland women’s lacrosse came out on top at No. 2 Michigan, handing the Wolverines their first loss of the season, 8-6.
The win was the Terps’ fifth of the season over a ranked opponent, and second over a No. 2-ranked team, including a March 10 win over then-No. 2 James Madison.

🔼 Comeback Complete. Down 10-7 heading into the fourth quarter Sunday at No. 4 Penn State, No. 12 Maryland men’s lacrosse outscored the Nittany Lions 6-1 in the final period, winning 13-11, its fifth ranked win of the season.
Luke Wierman won 11-of-13 face-offs in the second half to turn the momentum toward the Terps, and Jack Koras poured in four goals to lead the scoring output.

🔼 Wyche’s Weekend. Despite dropping two-of-three to No. 22 Penn State over the weekend, Maryland softball’s Courtney Wyche put together a performance for the ages against the Nittany Lions.
In Maryland’s 2-0 win on Friday, Wyche tossed a shutout and struck out 19, the most in the NCAA this season. Then in Sunday’s rubber match, Wyche tossed a 12-inning complete game, striking out another 17 Nittany Lions in a 1-0 loss.

🔼 Broken Records. No one in Maryland track and field history has ever thrown a javelin further than Mekhi Abbott — his 60.98m throw at the Florida Relays is a new school record!
The Terps received several other standout performances, too — Eric Albright’s 1:49.08 in the men’s 800m is the second-best mark in school history, while Armanie Coleman and Victoria Teasley put themselves fifth and ninth all-time, respectively, in the women’s 100m.
🔼 Start Another Streak. Maryland baseball dropped its first Big Ten series since April 2021 this past weekend, dropping two-of-three at Michigan.
The Terps scored nine runs in the top of the ninth inning in Friday’s series opener to steal an 11-9 win before falling in Saturday and Sunday’s contests.
Maryland had won 23 consecutive conference series leading up to its trip to Ann Arbor, and 15 consecutive weekend series overall.
