📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Saturday Showdown. There’s truly nothing like “The Rivalry.”
Tomorrow at Johns Hopkins, the 120th meeting between the Terps and the Blue Jays is set to go down at 2 pm. Since 1924 Maryland and Johns Hopkins have met on the lacrosse field every year (except for 1944 & 1945 due to World War II and 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic).
🔼 Three’s Company. A trio of Maryland women’s lacrosse standouts were named among the nation’s best on Thursday night. Kori Edmondson, JJ Suriano, and Lauren LaPointe were all named Tewaaraton Top-25 finalists.
🔼 Signed, Sealed, Delivered. They’re not hanging up those shoes just yet.
This week, Maryland guards Saylor Poffenbarger (Minnesota Lynx) and Yarden Garzon (Phoenix Mercury) both signed WNBA Training Camp contracts.
Poffenbarger, a Maryland native, played her final two collegiate seasons with the Terps, appearing in 59 games, while averaging 9.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. Garzon played her final season with the Terps, averaging 12. 5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game this past year.
🔼 Going Global. Coming off an All-American season with the Maryland women’s basketball program, junior standout Oluchi Okananwa was named to the roster for Team Nigeria's upcoming tour with three exhibition games vs. WNBA squads.
Okananwa and the D'Tigress will take on the Los Angeles Sparks on April 25 in San Diego, Calif., then the Minnesota Lynx on April 27 in Kansas City. They will play the Indiana Fever on May 2 in Indianapolis.

🔼 On The Road Again. For the second time in the past three weekends, the Maryland Baseball squad heads back to the midwest, this time for a three-game series against the Hawkeyes of Iowa. Friday's matchup is set to begin at 1 pm (previously 7 pm), followed by a 3 pm first pitch on Saturday and the series finale will begin at 1 pm on Sunday.
🔼 No Place Like Home. For the final time in Big Ten play, the Maryland Softball team is back at home this weekend for a three-game series against the Illinois Fighting Illini. Game times are set for 6 p.m. (Friday), 2 p.m. (Saturday) and 12 p.m. (Sunday).
🔼 Finishing Strong. Winners of three of the past four, the Maryland women’s tennis team looks to finish the 2026 regular season strong with its final pair of home matches against Northwestern (Friday at 2 p.m.) and Illinois (Sunday at 11 a.m.).
🔼 Back At It. For the second time this spring, the Maryland Track & Field squad head to Virginia to compete. This weekend, the Terrapins head to Charlottesville to compete in the two-day Virginia Challenge.
🐢 ONE BIG THING
🔼 Perfect Pair. They have so much more than just a name in common.
Two international tennis stars — separated only by a single “M” — have found a home and a season of success in College Park this season. Shaped by a love for the sport, driven by a common passion, and bonded through shared experiences and a similar name, Emma Ghirardato and Ema Kovacevic have become pillars of excellence for Maryland tennis.
Ghirardato is a native of Turin, Italy, while Kovacevic hails from Brussels, Belgium. Tennis has been ingrained in their lives since the very beginning, and their paths crossed – not for the first time – in College Park to create the Terps’ best doubles team in over a decade.
