📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Better Than Ever. Maryland gymnastics saved its best for last at the Big Ten Championships on Saturday, posting its best finish and best score ever at the event.

The Terps scored a 196.775 and led the entire field after the first session before ultimately finishing fifth as a team.

🔼 Walk It Off. Maryland baseball opened up Big Ten play in dramatic fashion this past weekend at home against Michigan State, walking off the Spartans twice to take the series.

Brayden Martin supplied both walk-off base hits for the Terps, who won their 23rd straight Big Ten series thanks to the freshman’s heroics.

🔼 Good Knight. Led by a six-goal effort from Hannah Leubecker, No. 2 Maryland women’s lacrosse took down Rutgers, 13-8, in its Big Ten home opener on Sunday.

Eloise Clevenger added four assists, and Libby May had a hat trick of her own against the Scarlet Knights.

🔼 Every Which Way. Maryland softball picked up a series win in its Big Ten home opener over the weekend, taking two-of-three from Minnesota.

The Terps won via a Sammi Woods walk-off single in the ninth inning of Game One, and dominated Game Three, 12-6, to clinch the series victory.

🔼 Wrapped Up. No. 10 seed Maryland women’s basketball led No. 7 seed Iowa State by as many as 20 points in the first half of its NCAA First Round matchup on Friday, but a sustained run from the Cyclones in the second half gave them a 93-86 win.

Allie Kubeck was fantastic for the Terps off the bench, scoring a career-high 29 points in her first NCAA Tournament appearance. Kubek shot 7-of-8 from 3-point range and 10-of-12 overall.

🔼 Right Direction. Maryland wrestling finished the NCAA Championships with 8.5 team points, its most at the tournament since 2019, sending five wrestlers to the event for the second consecutive year.

Four Terps — 133-pounder Braxton Brown, 149-pounder Ethen Miller, 197-pounder Jaxon Smith and 285-pounder Seth Nevills — made it the Consolation Round 2.

🔼 Fresh Air. Maryland track and field celebrated being outside for the first time this spring by dominating the Maryland Invitational, winning 14 individual events, recording two event sweeps, and wins in both 4×400 relays!

🔼 Just Short. No. 8 Maryland men’s lacrosse fell 12-11 on the road in its Big Ten opener against No. 20 Michigan on Saturday.

With the game tied late, the Wolverines found the net with 1:13 remaining the the fourth quarter to earn the conference-opening win.

Daniel Maltz led the Terps with a hat trick and four total points, while Eric Malever and Braden Erksa both added three points.

🔼 Split Weekend. No. 58 Maryland women’s tennis fell 4-1 to No. 2 Michigan on Saturday, but bounced back to beat Michigan State by the same score on Sunday to go 1-1 on the weekend.

🔼 Breaking Ground. Ground was officially broken on the new Maryland Softball Player Development Center on March 21 during a ceremony that featured Barry P. Gossett Director of Athletics Damon Evans, Maryland softball head coach Lauren Karn and the senior class of Terps!
