🔼 How Sweet It Is! No. 4 seed Maryland men’s hoops survived and advanced on Sunday, as Derik Queen’s shot at the buzzer gave the Terps a 72-71 win over No. 12 seed Colorado State to send the team to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2016!

🔼 And Then There Were 32. No. 4 seed Maryland women’s basketball picked up a win in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against No. 13 seed Norfolk State on Saturday, 82-69.

Sarah Te-Biasu (22 points) and Kaylene Smikle (21 points) led the Terps in scoring against the Spartans.

Maryland will now play No. 5 seed Alabama in the second round today at 5 p.m. at XFINITY Center with a spot in the Sweet 16 on the line.

🔼 Terp Takedown. Maryland wrestling finished off its first Top-25 finish at the NCAA Championships since 2014 over the weekend, scoring 18.5 points to tie for 24th place in Philadelphia.

Jaxon Smith, who finished sixth at 184 pounds, also became the Terps’ first All-American since Youssif Hemida in 2019.

🔼 B1G Opened. No. 1 Maryland men’s lacrosse fell in its Big Ten opener in triple overtime to Michigan on Saturday, 11-10.

Braden Erksa led the Terps with five points on four assists and one goal, while Daniel Kelly collected a hat trick.

🔼 Top-5 Tilt. No. 4 Maryland women’s lacrosse fell in a top-five matchup at Northwestern over the weekend, 16-4.

Maisy Clevenger, Devin Livingston, Kori Edmondson and Jordyn Lipkin scored goals for the Terps against the Wildcats.

🔼 Out West. Maryland baseball took a trip to the West Coast this past weekend, dropping a pair of games at Washington.

The Terps won Game 2 of the series, 2-1, thanks to RBI from Hollis Porter and Chris Hacopian and 7.2 solid innings from Logan Hastings.

🔼 B1G Finish. Maryland gymnastics finished fourth during session two of the Big Ten Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Saturday and finished 12th overall among all teams competing.

🔼 Sweet Sweep. Maryland women’s tennis picked up another Big Ten win on Sunday, sweeping Penn State in College Park.

After winning the doubles point, the Terps got singles wins from Ema Kovacevic, Oliwia Orlinska and Tamari Gagoshidze.

🔼 The Great Outdoors. Maryland track and field competed at the Black and Gold Invite in Orlando, Fla. this past weekend, with seven all-time performances across two days of events.

🔼 The Home Of Softball. Maryland softball finished its stay in Oklahoma City on Sunday, finishing the weekend at 1-3 overall against Michigan and Purdue.

The Terps beat the Boilermakers, 8-1, on Saturday thanks to three home runs — two from Sam Bean and one from Madison Runyan.

🔼 Immersive Experience. Sprinter and middle-distance runner Ariana Wright participated in the CBS Sports Immersion Program, where she attended the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament from March 13-16.  

For the third consecutive year, CBS Sports and the Big Ten teamed up to provide 12 current Big Ten student-athletes with an experiential program to expose them to the inner workings of sports journalism, media and broadcasting careers during the women’s and men’s basketball tournaments. Student-athletes gained knowledge and learned from CBS Sports producers, directors, on-air talent, operation leads and Big Ten Conference staff.
