📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Season Opened. Well that’s one way to open up a season — No. 6 Maryland men’s lacrosse got a goal from Owen Murphy in double overtime against No. 19 Richmond to win 12-11 and start the year 1-0!

Eric Malever led the Terps with one goal and three assists, while Braden Erksa earned himself a hat trick against the Spiders.

🔼 Soldout Saturday Night. Maryland women’s basketball played in front of nearly 18,000 fans on Saturday night with No. 3 Iowa in town and gave the Hawkeyes everything they could handle, but fell 93-85.

The Terps trailed by 18 points in the third quarter but took the lead thanks to a 23-3 run in the quarter. Jakia Brown-Turner scored a career-high 25 points, her fifth consecutive game with at least 20 points.

🔼 Not Enough Buckets. For the 12th time in 13 games, Maryland men’s basketball held its opponent under 70 points, but the Terps couldn’t generate quite enough offense against Michigan State over the weekend in a 63-54 loss to the Spartans in East Lansing.

Jahmir Young continued his torrid road stretch, scoring 31 points, his third 30-point road effort of the year.

🔼 Individual Standouts. Maryland wrestling traveled to the Twin Cities over the weekend to take on No. 10 Minnesota, falling to the Gophers 30-6.

The Terps did grab two ranked wins during the dual — No. 21 Braxton Brown (133 pounds) knocked off the No. 20-ranked wrestler at his weight, and No. 14 Ethen Miller (149) knocked off the No. 13-ranked wrestler.

🔼 Top-25 Matchup. No. 25 Maryland gymnastics dropped its matchup with No. 12 Ohio State on Sunday at the XFINITY Center, 196.625 - 195.800.

Natalie Martin led the way for the Terps on vault and beam, and also added a career-high 9.900 score on her floor routine.

🔼 What’s Up, Doc? Maryland track & field picked up several top-10 finishes and personal records over the weekend at the Doc Hale Virginia Tech Meet!

🔼 Playing Through. Maryland women’s golf’s spring season is officially underway, as the Terps finished play at the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country Club over the weekend.

Panassaya Somchit and Patricie Mackova paced Maryland, both shooting 11-over to finish in a tie for 23rd overall.

🔼 Desert Days. Maryland women’s tennis was out west again this past weekend, dropping a pair of tough matches to San Diego State and Arizona.

🔼 Now On The Tee. Maryland men’s golf tees it up today at the Battle at Briar’s Creek, hosted by the College of Charleston in Johns Island, S.C.

Maryland is one of three Big Ten schools competing, joining Nebraska and Indiana at the tournament.
