Good morning! February is Black History Month!

What else can you find in today’s Brew?

🏈 Shrine time
🏀 Because of Maryland
🐢 And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 One More Time. Four Maryland football players are set to put on the Script Terp helmet one last time today during the 99th East-West Shrine Bowl in Frisco, Texas!

Offensive lineman Gottlieb Ayedze, defensive back Ja’Quan Sheppard, defensive back Tarheeb Still and quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa will all play in front of representatives from NFL teams.

🔼 Battled Back. Down 22 at halftime to No. 10 Indiana, Maryland women’s basketball battled back in the second half, but ultimately fell 87-73 to the Hoosiers.

Jakia Brown-Turner led the Terps with 22 points, and was joined in double figures by Bri McDaniel (15), Faith Masonius (11), Lavender Briggs (10) and Brinae Alexander (10).

🔼 Nominate Now. Founded in 1982 by the M Club Foundation and the Athletic Department, the Maryland Athletic Hall of Fame celebrates exceptional Terp athletes, coaches, and administrators. Hosted every two years, this award is the highest honor the University can bestow on former athletes.

Now is your chance to nominate our most outstanding athletes to be enshrined in the Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame. Submit your nomination by February 29, 2024.

🐢 ONE BIG THING

🔼 Because Of Maryland. University of Maryland graduate Aja Ellison always knew she wanted to work in broadcasting, and did everything she could to prepare herself for it — she graduated from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism, and starred as a forward for the women’s basketball team.

But none of it would’ve been possible without the Terrapin Club.

🍨 TASTE THE NEW

Now there’s even more reasons to celebrate Maryland basketball kicking off another season! Our friends at Sweet & Boozy are bringing their deliciously sweet confections for kids and tasty booze-infused creations for adults to XFINITY Center.

Try any of their assorted ice creams, alcohol-infused flavors, as well as an amazing assortment of “Thundershakes”, “Thundercups” and Flights.
