🔼 And We’re Off! Top-ranked Maryland men’s lacrosse won its season-opener on Saturday against Loyola, 19-10!

Leo Johnson led the Terps with five goals, followed closely by Chris Lyons, who scored four times. Maryland, which opened its 101st season, has now won 33 consecutive season openers.

🔼 B1G Road Dub! Maryland men’s basketball won its second Big Ten game of the season on Sunday in Minnesota, beating the Gophers, 67-62, thanks to a 29-point performance from Diggy Coit!

🔼 Halted The Huskers! No. 22 Maryland women’s basketball earned its seventh Big Ten win of the season over the weekend, rolling past Nebraska in Lincoln, 78-60!

Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu had a huge game for the Terps, leading the team with 16 points and snagging nine boards. Oluchi Okananwa (14 points), Rainey Welson (13 points) and Yarden Garzon (11 points) also reached double figures.

🔼 Dominant On Defense! No. 7 Maryland women’s lacrosse opened its season on the road at No. 13 Syracuse over the weekend, winning 9-5 to improve to 18-2 in season openers under head coach Cathy Reese!

Lauren Lapointe scored five goals to lead the Terps offensively, while JJ Suriano’s 16 saves led the defensive effort.

🔼 On Track! Maryland track and field was impressive yet again over the weekend, with two top-10 all-time finishes on Day 1 of the Penn Classic and a school record from Maya Valmon in the women’s 400 meters on Day 2!

🔼 Still Unbeaten! Maryland women’s tennis pushed its season-opening win streak to four matches over the weekend, going on the road and handing William & Mary its first loss of the season, 6-1!

🔼 Softball In The Sunshine. Maryland softball kicked off the 2026 campaign in Orlando over the weekend, going 2-3 at the Black & Gold Classic hosted by UCF.

The Terps won games against Buffalo and CSU Bakersfield during their time in Florida.

🔼 Set The Bar High! Maryland gymnastics logged its best team bars score of the season on Saturday in a competition against Rutgers while ultimately losing to the Scarlet Knights overall, 196.175-195.600.

Madeline Komorski tied a program record with a 9.950 on the balance beam to highlight the meet.

🔼 Grounded By The Gophers. Maryland wrestling dropped a Big Ten dual to No. 6 Minnesota on Sunday, 37-6.

Braxton Brown (133 pounds) and Branson John (197 pounds) earned wins for the Terps.

🔼 Maryland’s First Face of Social Justice! With the start of Black History Month, it's appropriate to celebrate one of Maryland's trailblazers in Darryl Hill, the first Black student-athlete to play football in the ACC and South of the Mason-Dixon Line. Hill was featured in the Fall 2020 edition of One Maryland Magazine.
