🔼 Worldwide Win. No. 21 Maryland women’s basketball celebrated Mr. Worldwide Night — a Pitbull-themed game — with a 85-77 win over Michigan on Monday night!

Shyanne Sellers made history against the Wolverines, becoming the first player in program history to surpass 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists.

Join NBC Today Show personality Joy Bauer '86 and special guests Maryland Football Head Coach Michael Locksley and SPH Dean Boris Lushniak on Feb. 24 for an unforgettable evening. Joy will share her advice, show off her cooking chops and engage with the audience in an interactive gameshow, plus more!

Registration includes free surface lot parking, heavy hors d'oeuvres and a beer and wine bar.

🔼 High Five. For the fifth time this season, Maryland men’s basketball’s Derik Queen is the Big Ten Freshman of the Week!

With the honor, Queen passes the legendary Tom McMillen who earned four Rookie of the Week honors in 1971-72. He is one shy of matching Joe Smith for the most all-time after he earned the honor six times during the 1993-94 season.

🔼 Midweek Matinee. No. 9 Maryland women’s lacrosse is back at it today, welcoming Georgetown to the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex for a 4:30 p.m. matchup.

The Terps have won 14 straight matchups with the Hoyas, and hold a 27-4 advantage in the all-time series.

🔼 Worth The Wait. Maryland baseball was supposed to play its home opener today against Delaware, but alas, the weather has not cooperated.

The game has been rescheduled for Feb. 25. See you all at the Bob soon!

🔼 Golf In The Sun. Maryland women’s golf was led by Nicha Kanpai at the Spartan Sun Coast Classic on Monday, as the senior shot 211 (73-70-68) to finish second overall individually.

As a team, the Terps finished seventh in the 15-team field.

🔼 Top Terp. Maryland track and field’s Rose Coats captured the program record in the 3,000m over the weekend, a mark that had stood for 41 years before she crossed the finish line in Boston in a staggering 9:18.23.

🔼 Developing Brands. In collaboration with the Robert H. Smith School of Business, Maryland Athletics is proud to announce a groundbreaking pilot program to help Terrapin student-athletes develop their brands and thrive in the Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) era.

Under Armour has produced limited edition merchandise available exclusively for new members of the One Maryland Collective. The merchandise features a vintage logo that will be exclusive to Under Armour.

The “Terrapin Throwback” initiative was inspired by Coach Locksley, who last year started wearing one-of-a-kind hoodies featuring vintage marks. The unique hoodies were quickly noticed on social media and message boards, and demand quickly mounted.

🐢 ONE BIG THING

🔼 Connecting Professionals. Maryland Made’s Gossett Fellows learned about global perspectives and career development with JPMorgan Chase professionals during a Zoom meeting on Feb. 11.

The Gossett Fellows program aims to educate rising junior and senior student-athletes and help them develop their respective postgraduate careers. It provides student-athletes with career information and project management skills, helping them develop professional skills beyond athletics. These student-athletes meet monthly to focus on a different career development topic, with this session’s theme being global perspectives and culture.
