🔼 Road Dub. No. 25 Maryland men’s basketball went on the road Thursday night and picked up a win at Nebraska, 83-75.

All five Terps starters scored in double figures — Derik Queen (24), Selton Miguel (17), Ja’Kobi Gillespie (15), Rodney Rice (14) and Julian Reese (13). Both Queen and Reese collected double-doubles.

🔼 Top-10 Matchup. No. 6 Maryland men’s lacrosse gets an early-season test tomorrow, hosting No. 2 Syracuse at SECU Stadium at 2 p.m.

The Terps carry a five-game win streak against the Orange into tomorrow’s matchup.

🔼 True Test. No. 7 Maryland women’s lacrosse opens its season with a test tomorrow, hosting No. 6 Syracuse at 11 a.m. at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.

The Orange are 1-0 this season, having beat UAlbany last weekend, 21-9.

🔼 Play Ball! Maryland baseball opens its season this weekend in Charleston, S.C., with three games lined up as part of the Swig & Swine College Classic.

The Terps have games against UAB today, Ball State tomorrow and Mercyhurst on Sunday at Detyens Field.

🔼 Texas Two-Step. Maryland softball is in Austin, Texas this weekend for five games at the Bevo Classic.

The Terps will play both Texas and UMass twice, as well as one game against Texas Tech.

🔼 Not Our Night. No. 17 Maryland women’s basketball fell at home on Thursday night to Nebraska, 91-71.

Shyanne Sellers scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Terps, who are now 19-6 overall and 9-5 in Big Ten action.

🔼 Last One. Maryland wrestling wraps up its regular season Big Ten dual slate this weekend, traveling to Purdue today for a 7 p.m. matchup.

With a win, the Terps would finish the regular season at .500 in conference action, which would be a first for the program as members of the Big Ten.

🔼 Out West. Maryland gymnastics is in Seattle, preparing for a late-night matchup with Washington tonight at 9:30 p.m. ET.

The Huskies are 2-4 in their first season as members of the Big Ten.

🔼 Staying Home. Maryland women’s tennis continues its homestand this weekend, welcoming VCU and Towson to town today for a pair of matches starting at 1 p.m.

🔼 Split Squad. Maryland track and field will be split between two meets this weekend — the Tiger Paw Invite in Clemson, S.C. and the BU Valentine Invitational in Boston.

🔼 Love Connection. Jasmine Garry remembers the first time she heard about her future husband, Jake Layman. 

She was listening to a song that featured Machine Gun Kelly with one of her friends, Charles Mitchell — Jake’s then-Maryland men’s basketball teammate. 

“One of my teammates, Jake, you would love Jake,” Jasmine recalls Mitchell saying. “He looks just like MGK. “Jake is super cool. He’s lowkey and laid back. You would like him. I’ll try to introduce you two.”

Before long, Jasmine (‘13) received a text that read, “Whaddup, it’s Jake.” But Jake (‘16) admits Mitchell was behind this first communication effort, which Jasmine suspected.
