📈 STOCK UP

🔼 The Donta Scott Game. Donta Scott set the tone right from the get-go that Maryland men’s basketball wouldn’t back down to Michigan, and the Terps overcame a halftime deficit to beat the Wolverines, 64-57.

Back to Scott — you’re going to want his first half dunk on repeat. Ironically, those were his only two points of the first half. However, after halftime he went off for 20 additional points to lead the Terps to their second Big Ten win of the season!

🔼 Boiling Over. Maryland women’s basketball puts its perfect 7-0 home record to the test this weekend against Purdue, a rescheduled game due to the postponement on Jan. 6.

The Boilermakers are 9-6 on the season and tied with Maryland at 2-2 in conference action, having since lost to No. 3 Iowa at home on Wednesday after the postponement.

🔼 Let’s Get Ready To Tumble. Gymnastics season is officially here!

The No. 25 GymTerps host West Chester tonight to open up their season at the XFINITY Center. Admission to the meet is free, and will serve as the To XFINITY and Beyond promotion, which features a Toy Story celebration.

🔼 Double It. No. 21 Maryland wrestling gets conference season started this weekend with not one, but two Big Ten home duals.

No. 13 Michigan (2-1) is in town tonight for a 7:30 p.m. start, before Northwestern (0-1) travels to College Park on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match.

🔼 Runners, On Your Mark. For the first time since Dec. 2, Maryland track & field is back in action this weekend at the Nittany Lion Challenge.

Aaron Abedn (400m), Armani Coleman (60m), Kami Joi Hickson (1000m) and Chioma Njoku (weight throw) are all coming off wins at the Navy Invite last month.

🐢 ONE BIG THING

🔼 Ground Breaker. Before there was Alyssa Thomas, Crystal Langhorne, Kristi Toliver, Marissa Coleman and many others for Maryland women’s basketball, there was Tara Heiss.

From 1975-78, Heiss dazzled fans with her passes, speed and ability to score on every level.
