🔼 Another W. No. 18 Maryland women’s basketball successfully opened its home slate on Thursday night, beating Coppin State, 70-47, at the XFINITY Center.
The Terps’ lead after the first quarter was just three points, but a 25-4 advantage in the second quarter stretched the lead. Kaylene Smikle led the way with 20 points, followed by Sarah Te-Biasu with 12.
Maryland is back on the court this Sunday for its first ranked matchup of the season, hosting No. 11 Duke at 1 p.m.

🔼 B1G Win. Maryland volleyball picked up its second conference win of the season on Thursday night, beating Michigan State in four sets at the XFINITY Center Pavilion.
Katie Scherer had a career day for the Terps, recording 10 kills, four blocks and three digs. Eva Rohrbach added 10 blocks and seven kills, and Samantha Schnitta added to her NCAA-leading aces total with three more.
🔼 Friday Fun. Maryland men’s basketball is back on the court tonight, hosting Mount St. Mary’s at 8 p.m. at the XFINITY Center. The game will be broadcasted on the Big Ten Network.
The Mountaineers won their season opener on Monday, beating Notre Dame of Maryland, 98-62, in Emmitsburg.

Hope Rose, Maci Bardford and Annemijn Klijnhout all made their penalty shots to help the Terps advance to today’s semifinal matchup with No. 3 seed Michigan at 3:30 p.m.
