🔼 Down Goes Duke. In the first matchup between the two programs since the NCAA Sweet 16 on March 28, 2015, No. 18 Maryland women’s basketball beat No. 11 Duke on Sunday at XFINITY Center, 85-80!
Kaylene Smikle led the Terps with 23 points, followed by Shyanne Sellers (17) and Bri McDaniel (15). Christina Dalce registered a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.

🔼 Mounting Momentum. Maryland men’s basketball handled Mount St Mary’s easily on Friday night at XFINITY Center, led by Rodney Rice’s career-high 28 points in a 86-52 win over the Mountaineers.
Ja’Kobi Gillespie scored 13 points and Selton Miguel scored 11 to round out the double-figure scorers for the Terps, while Julian Reese was one point away from a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.
Maryland is back on the court tonight, hosting Florida A&M (0-2) at 7 p.m.

🔼 B1G Win Streak. Maryland volleyball won its second consecutive Big Ten match on Saturday, taking down UCLA in four sets at the XFINITY Center Pavilion to help head coach Adam Hughes earn his 100th career win!
Samantha Schnitta was once again dominant for the Terps, recording a career-high 22 kills, nine digs, six blocks and three service aces.
🔼 West Coast Night. Maryland football fell on the road this weekend, 39-18, to No. 1 Oregon at Autzen Stadium in Eugene.
The Terps had early momentum against the Ducks, scoring on an opening-drive field goal and forcing a three-and-out immediately after. However, Oregon would score a touchdown on its second possession and take control from there.

🔼 Onto NCAAs. No. 2 seed Maryland field hockey’s Big Ten Tournament run came to an end in the semifinals on Friday, falling to No. 3 seed Michigan in a shootout.
The Terps scored in each of the first three quarters against the Wolverines, with goals from Ella Gaitan, Hope Rose and Maci Bradford, but were unable to find the back of the net in the shootout.
On Sunday, the Terps earned their 36th overall NCAA Tournament bid, and will take on No. 6 seed Duke as the tournament’s No. 5 seed this Friday in the NCAA First Round.

🔼 Tiger Roar. Maryland wrestling participated in the Tiger Style Invite in Kansas City over the weekend, with competition highlighted by individual titles from Ethen Miller (157 pounds) and Seth Nevills (285).
Miller, ranked No. 19 at his weight, picked up two ranked wins during his run to the title. Nevills, No. 15 at 285, earned one ranked win.

🔼 Standing Out. The Big Ten Conference has announced its postseason men’s soccer awards, and William Kulvik has been named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year!
Kulvik was also named to the All-Big Ten First Team, and was joined on team by Leon Koehl. Colin Griffith and Max Rogers were named to the All-Big Ten Second Team, and Laurin Mack was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team. Alex Nitzl earned Maryland’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
