🔼 Homecoming Kick. The Big Ten has announced that Maryland football’s Homecoming game against USC on Oct. 19 will kick off at 4 p.m. on FS1!

🔼 Collecting Awards. The Big Ten honored Maryland field hockey’s Ella Gaitan on Monday with the league’s Freshman of the Week award.

Gaitan recorded her first multi-goal game on Sunday in Maryland’s 5-0 win over No. 10 Iowa, and Is now a multi-time winner of the weekly award.

🔼 Combining Passions. Despite being a busy student-athlete, Nyla Cherry has made the most of the resources around her and advanced her passion for journalism. In March, she was one of 14 student-athletes chosen from each Big Ten institution to attend Minneapolis's CBS Sports Ambassador Program.  

Since then, Cherry has attended the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Convention and Career Fair, landed a summer internship, and formed a relationship with CBS Sports’ Vice President of Workplace Culture and Diversity Initiatives, Ndidi Massay.
