This season, Abbott and the Big Ten are pitting school against school in the largest blood donation competition of our lifetime to fight the largest blood shortage in a generation.

University of Maryland’s Blood Drive is TODAY from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the President’s Suite at Tyser Tower inside SECU Stadium. Want the Terps to win? Then don't give up. Give blood. Every donation scores one point for your school on the leaderboard.

The winning school will receive $1 million to advance student or community health. Individual donors will be offered a free one-month subscription to B1G+ and will be entered to win a trip to the 2024 Discover® Big Ten Football Championship Game on December 7, 2024.

🔼 Sunday Funday. No. 6 Maryland field hockey picked up a convincing win in its final non-conference game on Sunday, beating Richmond, 3-0, in College Park.

Fleur Knopert, Ella Gaitan and Hope Rose all scored for the Terps, who bounced back from a 2-1 loss to No. 13 Princeton earlier in the weekend.

🔼 Gopher Game. Maryland football fell behind 21-0 after the first quarter at Minnesota on Saturday and couldn’t get itself back into the game, falling 48-23 to the Gophers to move to 4-4 on the season.

🔼 Streak Snapped. No. 2 Maryland men’s soccer lost its first Big Ten match of the season on Friday, snapping a 12-match unbeaten streak in a 2-0 loss at Michigan.

The Terps are now in third place in the Big Ten with 17 points, behind Indiana (20 points) and Ohio State (19). Maryland has Rutgers and the Buckeyes left on its regular season schedule.

🔼 Coast To Coast. Maryland volleyball fell in a pair of matches in the Pacific Northwest over the weekend, in straight sets at No. 11 Oregon on Friday night and in four sets at Washington on Saturday.

The Terps are back home this coming weekend, with matches against Purdue and Indiana on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

🔼 Regular Season Finale. Maryland women’s soccer finished up its regular season on Sunday, playing Rutgers to a 1-1 draw in Piscataway, N.J.

The Terps trailed late into the match, until Lisa McIntyre found the back of the net in the 87th minute. The goal was her second of the season.

🔼 Chart Your Course. International student-athletes gathered at Worldwide Terps’ Career Compass meeting last week to discuss navigating their career journeys away from their home countries.

The event featured a presentation from the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) office, a mental health Q&A and a panel of upperclassmen international student-athletes. All programming aimed to provide critical resources and strategies for international student-athletes to embark on their career paths with confidence.
