🔼 Road Rout. Maryland men’s basketball went on the road Thursday night and dominated No. 17 Illinois, 91-70, for its second ranked win of the season.

Julian Reese had his best game as a Terp with career-highs in points (27) and rebounds (17). Derik Queen was also fantastic with 25 points and six rebounds.

Maryland has now beaten Illinois in 11 of its last 14 matchups, including five of the last six in Champaign.

The first 800 fans at No. 8 Maryland women's basketball vs. No. 1 UCLA this Sunday, Jan. 26 will receive a scratch-off ticket upon entry into the arena. Be one of the lucky 100 fans to leave with a Christina Dalce bobblehead!

🔼 B1G Mat Matchup. Maryland wrestling has an opportunity to grab even more momentum this weekend, hosting No. 11 Illinois today at 7 p.m.

The Terps are off to a 3-0 start in Big Ten play with wins over No. 10 Michigan, Michigan State and Wisconsin. On the flip side, the Illini are 2-2 in Big Ten action with the two losses coming to top-five teams in No. 5 Ohio State and No. 2 Iowa.

🔼 Buckeye Battle. Despite taking a 34-27 lead into halftime on Thursday at No. 12 Ohio State, No. 8 Maryland women’s hoops fell to the Buckeyes on the road, 74-66.

Kaylene Smikle led the way with 17 points for the Terps, who were without their second and third-leading scorers in Shyanne Sellers and Bri McDaniel.

Next up for the Terps is a showdown at home on Sunday against No. 1 UCLA.

🔼 On The Road. Maryland gymnastics travels for its first Big Ten road meet this weekend, heading to Nebraska on Sunday for a 5 p.m. matchup with the Cornhuskers.

The Huskers fell in their Big Ten opener last weekend to Illinois, 196.275-195.600.

🔼 Big Apple. Maryland track and field is in New York City this weekend, competing at the Dr. Sander Invitational.

The Terps are coming off a successful showing at the Nittany Lion Challenge, in which they claimed four individual wins.

🔼 Heart Of Texas. Maryland women’s tennis is in Austin, Texas this weekend to begin its spring season at the ITA Kickoff Weekend.

The Terps have a matchup against No. 12 Texas today at 1 p.m., with a matchup against either Baylor or BYU to follow tomorrow.

🔼 Classroom Success. University of Maryland Athletics programs once again performed at record-setting levels in the classroom as the Fall 2024 semester was another banner term for the Terps. Maryland set a school record for highest departmental cumulative GPA following a semester with 3.295 with all of Maryland's teams combining for a 3.337 semester GPA.
