In the gymnastics season opener quad meet against GW, LIU and UNH on Friday night, Mendez-Abolnik made an immediate impact in her Terps debut. Competing sixth on vault, she anchored the lineup with a 9.850, helping Maryland post a 49.000 team total on the event and secure the overall victory with a score of 195.700.
