πΌ Remembering Billy Hahn. One of the most colorful figures in college basketball history, former Maryland guard and longtime assistant coach Billy Hahn passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 at the age of 69.
His impact on Maryland included finishing fourth or higher in the ACC for eight seasons and then-school records for regular season wins (28) and ACC victories in a season (13) in 1999.
πΌ Comeback Cut Short. Down four runs with one out to work with in the ninth inning, Maryland baseball fought its way into extra innings, ultimately falling to Georgetown 10-9 in 10 innings.
Luke Shliger hit a two-out, two-RBI single in the ninth to bring the Terps within two, and Nick Lorusso put a line drive into the left-center gap that was misplayed by the left fielder to tie the game and send it to extras.
πΌ Special Delivery. Maryland men's lacrosse's Luke Wierman was named Big Ten Specialist of the Week on Tuesday.
Wierman played a huge part in No. 5 Maryland's overtime, come-from-behind win over No. 19 Ohio State last weekend, winning 19 of 26 face-offs and tallying a team-high 11 groundballs.
πΌ Field Set. The Asheville Championship announced the field for the early-season men's basketball MTE, which will feature Maryland, Clemson, Davidson, and UAB.
The tournament will be played from Nov. 10-12 at the Harrah's Cherokee Center-Asheville in North Carolina. Game times and television assignments will be announced at a later date.
