🔼 Dancin’ Machines. From the opening whistle, the message was sent.
Maryland’s women’s lacrosse team advanced to yet another NCAA Quarterfinals in dominating fashion, blowing past James Madison, 17-7, on Sunday afternoon.
Maryland scored eight unanswered goals to begin the game, holding James Madison (14-6) scoreless for 19:40. At halftime, the Terps had scored 12 goals, their most in an NCAA Tournament game since scoring 15 goals in the first half of a 19-6 win over Duke on May 15, 2022. Maryland finished the game scoring a combined 34 goals in its first two NCAA Tournament games, tying for the fifth-most in school history.
Eloise Clevenger and Kori Edmondson led the Terrapins' offense with career performances. Clevenger scored a season-high eight points (five goals and three assists), the most for a Terp in an NCAA Tournament game since Caroline Steele had eight against Denver in the 2019 quarterfinals. Edmondson recorded a hat trick in the first quarter and later matched her career-high with four goals.
🔼 They’reee Greattttt. It’s all about timing.
The offense of the 7th-seeded Maryland men’s lacrosse squad hit its stride at the right time, scoring a season-high in goals to lead the way to a 16-8 defeat of Princeton and a date in the NCAA Quarterfinals next week in Hempstead.
The Terps' energized offense started the game hot and built a lead Princeton (11-5) could not overcome. Maryland led 11-3 at halftime, and its 11 first-half goals were a season high. It was the most the Terps scored in a first-half NCAA Tournament game since leading Vermont 12-2 in the 2022 first round. Maryland's 16 goals in the game were also a season-high.
Eric Spanos, Jack Koras (three goals and two assists) and Eric Malever (three goals and two assists) each scored hat tricks. Spanos scored a game-high four goals, matching his scoring output from the two schools' regular season matchup on Feb. 24. Koras's two assists were also a career-high.
🔼 Clipping Their Wings. No better time to be heating up than crunch time.
The UM baseball boys took another weekend series, taking two of three from Boston College over the weekend with wins of 8-1 and 5-3 in the first two games of the series.
With the two victories, the Terps have won eight of their past 10 and sit in position to claim one of the final spots in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament.
The Terps host Penn State in a critical three-game series starting this Thursday.
🔼 Showin’ Out. When titles are on the line, it’s always time to show out.
Junior Kayla Thorpe grabbed some hardware to lead the way for the Terps as they battled at Big Ten Championships this past weekend in Ann Arbor.

🔼 Welcome To The Fam. A new leg is headed to College Park.
On Friday, Coach Locksley announced the addition of punter Bryce McFerson to the Terrapin football program.
McFerson, who has three years of eligibility remaining, joins the Terps after serving as Notre Dame's primary punter during the 2023 season.
An Indian Trail, North Carolina native, McFerson booted 38 punts this past season for the Irish and averaged 45.1 yards per kick. He connected on 13 punts of 50 yards or more in 2023, including twice blasting career-long punts of 59-yards against N.C. State and in Notre Dame's bowl win over Oregon State. McFerson placed five punts inside the 20 with just two touchbacks.
